Get digital satellite TV on your PC: Receive free-to-air digital satellite TV and radio directly on your PC! WinTV-NOVA-usb-s is an external usb device which brings digital satellite broadcasts (TV and radio) to your PC or Laptop. Digital reception provides incredibly sharp TV pictures and near CD quality audio and radio.
WinTV-NOVA-usb-s turns your PC monitor into a high quality digital TV receiver. With WinTV-NOVA-usb-s, you can watch digital TV broadcasts in a resizeable window or full screen. You can also receive digital radio channels and listen to digital radio in stereo.
WinTV-NOVA-usb-s lowers the cost of digital TV reception by using your PC’s processor to decode the TV image. If you have a 500MHz Pentium III or faster, you can use WinTV-NOVA-usb-s to display TV while still running other PC applications. Surf the net while you watch high quality digital TV!
Note: You need a digital satellite antenna to receive digital satellite broadcasts.
Your personal Digital VCR: With WinTV-NOVA-usb-s, you can record your digital TV programmes to your hard disk, and play them back to your PC screen. TV programmes are recorded using high quality MPEG-2, so videos look just as good played back on your PC screen as the originals!
Note: You need about 1 gigabyte of hard disk space per hour of recorded video.
Bring “Internet via satellite” to your PC: Internet-via-satellite services use satellites to send high speed data directly to your PC. Internet-via-satellite will speed up the loading of Internet web pages and the downloading of files. WinTV-NOVA-usb-s has the ability to receive satellite broadband data services, once they become available in your area.
Note: To use a broadband data service, you will need to have an account with a "Internet via satellite" Service, plus an account with a local Internet Service Provider.
