Are you using Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005? If so, you can add WinTV-PVR-150 as either the primary or as the second TV tuner. The Microsoft Media Center application supports up to two TV tuners, so you can watch one TV channel while recording another!

WinTV-PVR's pause feature gives you personal "instant replay". Just click on WinTV-PVR's "One Touch Pause" button to pause your TV program, click again to continue watching where you left off. Rewind and replay, or fast forward or ‘skip’ to catch up to the live broadcast.

Technically speaking: WinTV-PVR-150 contains a highly integrated MPEG-1/2 hardware encoder, plus a high quality integrated single chip video/audio digitizer. WinTV-PVR-150 can record to your PC’s hard disk full screen video (full D1) from TV or a VCR or camcorder, using MPEG-2 at data rates from 2.5Mbits/sec to 12Mbits/sec (8 standard profiles are supported, plus custom). The encoded MPEG-2 program stream is sent over the PCI bus, where it is stored on the PCs hard disk. The video can also be played back to the PC screen while recording, so you can pause, rewind and fast forward live TV.

Important message regarding analog TV receivers in North America:

This Hauppauge WinTV product has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009 to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna in the United States because of the transition to digital broadcasting in North America. Analog only TV receivers will continue to work as before with cable TV and satellite TV receivers, plus other video devices such as camcorders and VCRs.
